Turns into a full-on comedy towards the end

If you've watched the movie, you know which scene I'm talking about. When it happened, many people in the audience (including me) were laughing, because it's just so ridiculous and stupid. After that point, it was downright impossible to take the movie seriously anymore, as it turned into an action film without a single attempt at scaring the audience.

The first half of the movie has some promise, although it's mostly genre cliches, but when the credits rolled, I felt like we are being clowned on by James Wan.

Reading these, have to agree with some...the positive reviews might be paid for

People started pointing this out and it really might be many very new accounts rating this a 8, 9 or 10/10 when it's at most a 2 to maybe 4, if you're kind...very sad day for the industry, if some really pay for positive reviews. Read the reviews with lower ratings first and spare yourself the trouble of this scam & save your money for anything else. Support the real reviews.

A big disappointment. Most of the reviews are fake here

First of all I can't believe how many fake accounts or bots there are here for this movie. I don't know if it's because the producers are scared of going bankrupt or what but most of the reviews here are fake. For example, "someone" has said that the movie is perfect and so scary he/she is going to see it again tonight. How? Is he going to the cinema again that same day? There are at least 50 like that, short, scored a 10 and inane. I found it really pathetic. You can like the movie of course, but it shows when is fake.

The movie itself is quite bad. The trailer make you believe you are going to expect something like Insidious or The Conjuring but it isn't like that at all. Sometimes it feels like they are trying to be funny, other times like it's a thriller about a murderer and other times like an action movie (the most ridiculous part by the way) . There are elements of terror, sure, but not like you'd expect for a James Wan movie. It feels like a movie made for television with a really low budget.

The story is not bad but the execution is strange and not that very interesting. One of the reasons besides a weak plot is because the characters are not developed at all. They are abruptly introduced and you don't really care about them.

The ending is terrible and a mess, it is closed for sure but like a cartoon episode with someone putting down the curtains. The only thing salvable is the version of a Pixies's song and that the story is logical in his own way, really dumb but logical.

Anyway, don't listen to the mayority of the reviews and avoid the movie at all costs because it is not worth your while.

Bad movie - all the positive reviews HAVE to be paid for

I never comment on movies. Basically because I normally always like them and would give them high ratings. I don't know, but I just always find something in them that I enjoy. This movie is an exception. I am genuinely gobsmacked at how many positive reviews there are on here, which leads me to think they are all fake and/or paid for.

I watched this movie in Madrid in its original version... Not dubbed. The audience was LAUGHING at it. It was just SO BAD. The script, the acting, the editing (travelling along the road to the hospital it goes from afternoon to pitchblack at night a mile or two later), even the soundtrack. I couldn't believe what I was watching. The women on front of me were laughing from the start, but the rest of the audience took a bit longer to start too, hoping it would get better. It doesn't... It just keeps going downhill. The scene in the jail cell was just the limit for me. After that I couldn't help but laugh. God, I honestly feel angry at those who made it. It was as if they deliberately wanted to make a bad movie and steal our money.

Hahaha... God, it really was bad. Actually looking back on it, it makes me laugh how bad it was, so I can't stay to angry. The gore and everything ??????

Definitely don't pay money to see this. Maybe watch it at a party and have a drinking game during it.

Don't you hate the shill reviews from people on Wan's payroll? Or is it Van?

I like how one of the reviewers, who gushed so profusely on three different reviews, couldn't even be bothered to spell the directors name correctly.

Repeatedly, inexplicably, calling James Wan, Van.

Maybe just the youthful enthusiam of a 12 year old.

But the rest of the 10/10 ratings was a giveaway to the lengths some will go just to give their subpar projects a leg up.

Anyway, this jumbled mess of a film tries so hard to be something it's not,a coherent story.

You will be thrust into 3 different story lines in the first 15 minutes.

Sound interesting? It's not.

It's tedious, and only gets worse as the non-plot unfolds.
