Taut and Twisty Thriller with an Excellent Performance by Hillary Swank

This film definitely exceeded my expectations. You will hear numerous comparisons to Fatal Attraction, but Glenn Close has got nothing on Hillary Swank's Val. I won't give too much away here but it starts with a one night stand in Vegas that for married Derrick (Michael Ealy), that is all it is. Val, however, has other ideas. After a break in in his apartment leads to a violent altercation, Val unexpectedly reenters the picture. It's a wild ride from there on, full of twist and turns that I did not see coming. The film moves at a good pace and had my full attention throughout. As I write this, its still the height of the Covid Pandemic, but being a movie lover I try to support the theaters by going at off times and there has never been more than 2 others in the theater with me. If you are considering returning to the theater, you won't be disappointed with this flick as your choice.

Better Than Expected

Derrick was more of a covience than a obsession. Val's obsession was with someone she actually loved.

The movie was great and fun. There were a couple of scenes which made you jump. This movie definitely doesn't deserve anything less than a 7 rating.

Hillary Swank was definitely the star in this one. Michael Ealy definitely held his own.

If you like movies like, The Hands That Rock The Cradle, where the obsession lies deeper than just a jilted lover gone mad, then this one is for you!

Without Hilary Swank, there's not much to see here

IN A NUTSHELL:Deon Taylor directs again thriller like The Intruder but this time starring Hilary Swank and Michael Ealy. How does Deon Taylor get so many white people to act cray-cray in his movies? When will people learn to stop cheating???!!!

TIPS FOR PARENTS:Kids will be boredProfanity and F-bombsSeveral scenes where you see people getting "intimate". You see lots of skin and motion.Bloody violence with guns and knives

THEMES:TemptationInfidelityMarriageSome comments about how black people are always assumed guilty.Cancel cultureChoices and consequencesPeer pressureGreed & power

THINGS I LIKED:Two-time Academy Award-winning Hilary Swank looks beautiful and gives a fierce performance. Her character is crazy, cold-hearted, and vicious, yet she's not portrayed as an evil, laughing villain from a cartoon, which I worried about before I saw the movie. It provides some fun moments of suspense.Lots of twists and turns that keep you guessing what's going to happen next. You're going to want to yell at the screen. It would have been entertaining to watch this movie in theaters just to hear comments from the audience.

THINGS I DIDN'T LIKE:I'm always completely disgusted by infidelity. The movie offers some Jerry Springer kind of garbage. It's definitely NOT worth racing out to the movie theater or paying theater ticket prices. Wait to watch it at home.I kind of expected it to be more thrilling...Unfortunately, without Hilary Swank, there's not much to see here. We've seen it all before and done better. There are some plot holes that don't make sense. The narration read at the beginning was super cheesy.None of the characters are very relatable. I didn't feel much sympathy for any of them because they all caused their own problems. The secondary characters aren't very interesting either, mostly because we're not given much information about them. The movie just didn't make me feel invested in any of the relationships. No one knows how to pronounce this film. The title is definitely supposed to make you think of the award-winning film Fatal Attraction but it's not nearly as good. The musical score is great at moments, but also surprisingly bad at moments too.Other than a few moments, it's not a very sexy movie. No humor.
